We’ve just finished watching The Americas series: a showcase of nature’s wonders and secrets in the America continents, narrated by Tom Hanks.
The cinematography is unbelievable and includes never before filmed footage of a diverse collection of animals and their behaviors. If you haven’t watched, I highly recommend it!
I find it impossible to view all of creation’s complex diversity in the absence of our Master Creator.
The intricacies of the natural world simply cannot have originated from random nothingness. It is God who has provided the breath and life of nature’s elaborate and fascinating creatures, provided their rhythms, the ebb and flow, all in a continuous cycle of birth, life and death.
And we can see these marvels all around us.
As I write, I’m watching out my window as a male bluebird constantly feeds its mate who is sitting on a nest in our bluebird house. The around-the-clock care and attention of this small bird astounds me.
Our God is always providing for His creation. He cares deeply about it, and that includes each of us.
He is Jehovah-jireh: THE LORD WILL PROVIDE.
How has the Lord been providing for you?
We live in places with easy access to food and water, clothing and shelter, and beauty all around.
I wonder if you’re like me and often get so caught up in a life of busyness and plenty, that you forget the Giver of all that is good.
We can forget to look out into the magnificence of the natural world. We can forget that our God is the Provider of not only necessities, but also of wonders and joy.
Throughout each day, I can see God’s provisions, if only I’ll look:
His Word to guide me on the path of life.
A home from which to work and dream and care for others.
Delicious food for my nourishment and enjoyment.
Clothing that protects me from wind and rain.
A garden to tend and watch over.
The beauty of the changing seasons.
My God provides all of this and so much more!
Join me this week in considering all of the provisions He graciously gives.
Thank you, Jehovah-Jireh.
THE LORD WILL PROVIDE.
Today is a GOOD day,
Natalie
